Contest Guidelines

Guidelines:

Current students of Rocky Mountain College may send one submission per category, for a total of up to three submissions:

Poetry: one poem no longer than two pages

Fiction: one piece up to 5,000 words

Creative Nonfiction: one piece up to 5,000 words

The deadline for submissions to this year’s contest is Tuesday, November 18, 2025 at 11:59 p.m. Submissions open 10/1/25.

The winners of each category will receive $75 and publication in Issue 7, which is slated for April 2026 publication. Honorable mentions will receive publication. Non-winning pieces that fit within the general submission guidelines will still be considered for publication in The Rocky Mountain Review.
